Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s opening might be even crazier than that of Avengers: Endgame. Just like this year’s massive blockbuster, the film got an early release in China, unlike the usually delayed release. To add to the opening, the film already opened on a Tuesday to make use of the Independence Day holiday. As such, the film didn’t have a classic opening weekend but rather an extended opening week. In just 10 days, the film grossed $580 million worldwide. As such, it already was on its way towards $1 billion as it was tracking ahead of Spider-Man: Homecoming and this year’s Captain Marvel.

Well, looks like Far From Home is not slowing down. The film has now made another $45.3 million over its second weekend taking the top spot once again. As such, it now stands at $274.5 million domestically with an additional $100 million internationally. As of now, the film stands at an impressive $847 million worldwide. As such, it is only a matter of time for the film to surpass Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s entire run of $880.2 million and Spider-Man 3‘s $891 million. So by next week Far From Home will become the highest grossing Spider-Man film. As of now, the film is moving towards $1 billion at quite a pace.

In China, the film is still tracking ahead of Captain Marvel by 10% and Homecoming by 44% with $191.8 million. It also finally opened in its final international market of Italy where it showed a similar development in comparison to the previously mentioned films. As of now, the film is the highest grossing Spider-Man film internationally, as it surpassed Spider-Man 3‘s record of $555 million. It will be interesting to see if it will achieve the same result in the domestic gross.

That is not all, with the release of their second Spider-Man film, the production company Marvel Studios has now grossed $4.75 billion in just four months. They do not have another film planned for this year but going by Far From Home‘s current trend they will surpass the $5 billion barriers by next week. It is kind of amazing to think that a production company that was once risking it by producing an Iron Man film would be one of the highest grossing companies in the industry.

What are your thoughts on the Box Office? Do you think the film will surpass Captain Marvel?
