Spider-Man: Far From Home is finally here and is already breaking expectations. Early predictions already saw the sequel make 150+ million in the States alone. Moreover, Far From Home already opened in China and surpassed Spider-Man: Homecoming’s entire Chinese run in just five days. As of now, the film has will end on around $310+ million within just a week. It will soon surpass Captain Marvel‘s performance in China and has been outperforming Homecoming worldwide by around 30%.
Nationally, the film has also been performing incredibly with a $25.2 million intake on the Fourth of July. This makes it the second-highest Independence Day gross of all time with 2007’s Transformers‘ still holding the record at $29 million. It also had the largest Tuesday debut of all-time with $39.2 million in the States. In just three days, Spider-Man: Far From Home has pulled in $91 million in three days with a potential of $60+ million more adding over the weekend. This would put it on track with the early estimates and high above the studio forecasts of $125 million.
What is even more impressive, the film managed to top the previous Wednesday release of Avenger: Endgame with $25.3 million. As of now, the film looks very likely to surpass the $1 billion mark by the end of its run. This will be the first Spider-Man film to accomplish it and will end Marvel Studios’ year with another $1 billion Box Office run.
