One of the most memorable sequences from the latest Spider-Man: Homecoming was one that took place outside of his usual stomping grounds, New York City. After missing out on the academic decathlon, young Peter Parker finds his friends in disarray as they are trapped in an elevator of the Washington Monument. To start the marketing campaign for the film’s upcoming digital and physical release, MTV got an exclusive first look at some behind-the-scenes footage from the previously-mentioned sequence.
It is quite fascinating to see how they brought this sequence to life. Not being able to film at the actual monument, they went out of their way to prepare large set pieces to replicate it piece by piece. Moreover, instead of having him crawl on a piece of the monument that is lying on the floor, they used extensive wirework to truly highlight how Spidey fights his way towards the top. This is only one small glimpse of around 86 minutes of additional footage that will be released. The official Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, 4K Ultra HD and DVD will be available on October 17, while it will be sold digitally on September 26.
Are you excited for the bonus footage? Will you buy it once it releases?
