The word Ragnarok signifies the end of all things, and for Marvel lore, that means the end of Asgard. When this subtitle was revealed to be the next Thor movie, we assumed that it could only mean that Thor would eventually have to face off against a giant fire demon named Surtur, who is responsible for much of that destruction. However, there was no word on if that would happen and then when Cate Blanchett (Hela), Karl Urban (Skurge), and Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) joined in roles that should bring trouble for Thor and Hulk, we thought that as Marvel has done in the past, they were straying away from what has been done before.
This is not the case anymore. During the Thor: Ragnarok portion of Marvel Studios Hall H panel at SDCC, some concept art and a early footage was shown for the movie. In there somewhere, was apparently Surtur.

It is unlikely that we will get to see that concept art revealing him, but if it does come out, we will post it here right away! Stay tuned for more updates from SDCC!
