The second episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after it returns next week is 4×10, ‘The Patriot’, which you may recognize as the superhero alter ego of S.H.I.E.L.D. director Jeffrey Mace (Jason O’Mara). The new director has been a bit of a mystery for this fourth season, but we anticipate that this episode will bring more information about his past to light.
It turns out that a familiar face will be returning to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this episode, with Adrian Pasdar listed on the official episode synopsis, returning as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot.
“The Patriot” – Separated from their team, Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, leaving all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a precarious position, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 17 (10:00–11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.

We knew that Talbot would return at some point this season, since Pasdar announced his involvement in season four on his Instagram account in November. Glenn Talbot has appeared on every season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. so far, a feat no other guest on the show has achieved. What his role will be, this time, we’ll have to wait to see. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, January 10, at 10:00 PM eastern. Pasdar will return in ‘The Patriot’ on Tuesday, January 17.
