This just in!!

While Marvel executives have been tight-lipped on many of the upcoming films after Avengers: Infinity War and the Untitled Avengers 4 movie, we have known for a while that director Jon Watt’s Spiderman: Homecoming sequel will be reaching theaters on July 5, 2019. Now, it appears that the film will start filming sooner than we thought! According to our friends over at That Hashtag Show, principal photography on the as-yet-untitled sequel will start on May 28th and may be using the United Kingdom or Germany as its backdrop! This news is very intriguing.

Fans may remember that Peter Parker spent time in Berlin during the events of Captain America: Civil War in that spectacular airport battle scene. Later, in the opening shots of Spiderman: Homecoming we were able to see his home-made video footage from his time in Berlin. If Watts will indeed be filming in Germany again, will we be seeing even more flashbacks? Or will these locations stem from Parker’s time battling Thanos in the next two Avengers films? There’s still so much that we don’t know about Peter Parker’s arc in the upcoming films, but it appears that by the time his own feature film rolls back around Spidey’s acrobatics may not be limited to just New York City.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, there have been rumors that the character of Gwen Stacy would be appearing in the upcoming film with a new backstory: A foreign exchange student. Audition tapes were apparently leaked showing a young French actress auditioning for the role. Do these European shoots have something to do with her character? More Spiderman: Homecoming 2 information is rolling in, so as always we will continue to keep you updated!

What are your thoughts? Would you like to see Spiderman in Berlin again? Would you like to see a European Gwen Stacy suit up as Spider-Gwen and swing around Buckingham Palace? Let your speculations run rampant and let us know in the comments below!
