What a time to be Taika Waititi! After winning his very first Academy Award at the 2020 Oscars for his screenplay on Jojo Rabbit, everyone’s favorite Kiwi can now get back to work on his next big project with Marvel Studios. While he did a fantastic job as the combo director/writer of Thor: Ragnarok, he has enlisted some help on the script for the upcoming sequel. According to a new report from Variety, he and Marvel have enlisted writer and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson to join the team and help work on the script for Thor: Love and Thunder.

She began her career in TV, creating the MTV show Sweet/Vicious in 2016, where she also served as a writer on multiple episodes. She then made the transition into full-length feature films, teaming up with Netflix and filling roles as the director, writer, and executive producer of 2019’s Someone Great. Marvel has not released any comment on her hire yet, but the team is clearly looking to get as much help as possible with a project as monumental as the next Thor movie. Taika Waititi earned rave reviews along with both critical and financial success after his first foray with Marvel, and after winning one of the biggest awards that cinema has to offer, we should all trust his judgement as he brings in backup for the next adventure. Thor: Love and Thunder is set to feature Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor, Christian Bale in an undisclosed role and Waititi himself as Korg, and the film is set to release on November 5, 2021!
