It’s been quite the eventful past few months for Thor: Ragnarok. They brought Taika Waititi on to direct and have paired Thor up with the Hulk. The film is currently in pre-production, with it scheduled to begin filming next June in Australia.
Now that a director is on board and the general feel for the story has been nailed down, Marvel has made a change on the writing side. The Hollywood Reporter has just reported that Stephany Folsom will begin working on rewriting the script for the third installment in the Thor franchise.
Folsom joins the likes of Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve, who are co-writing Captain Marvel, as the latest female writer Marvel has put on their feature films. She is best known for her work on 1969: A Space Odyssey or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon.
She will be expanding on the ideas that Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle did on their version of the script.
Being as I am unfamiliar with her work, this does not sway my expectations or feelings towards Thor: Ragnarok in any way. With that being said, it’s always good to get a new set of eyes on a project and it’s nice to see Marvel further diversify the MCU in all ways.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to hit theaters November 3, 2017.
