Way back in 2009, Marvel brought Tom Hiddleston on board the MCU. At the time, Hiddleston was not the highly recognizable actor he is today, but he has perfectly embodied the God of Mischief. His natural wit and charm have made him one of the characters that everyone wants to see more and more of. He has so far already made three appearances, with his fourth appearance coming next year in Thor: Ragnarok.
However, when it comes to future appearances, there’s one specifically that the actor would like to see happen, and it involves a certain Sorcerer, Hiddleston’s good friend, Benedict Cumberbatch.
“In some hypothetical world, I don’t quite know when, [I would like] for Loki and Dr. Strange to share the same frame, it would be very exciting indeed,” Hiddleston told the New York Daily News while promoting his most recent film I Saw the Light. “Because Benedict Cumberbatch is an old friend so I would think it would be interesting to see who would get the upper hand.”
As is stands, we do’t know how long Hiddleston will be around after Thor: Ragnarok, so it’s hard to know if it’s even possible that Loki and Doctor Strange will ever share a screen in the future. However, while we don’t know the length of Hiddleston’s contract, the actor does, although he’s not willing to divulge that information just yet. (Something that is clear given his recent comments.)
“Truthfully, I do actually know at the moment how many more times I’m going to play Loki, but I’m not going to tell you,” Hiddleston said. “It’s not personal it’s just keeping it fresh for all paying customers to enjoy their films.”
You can next see Hiddleston as the God of Mischief in Thor: Ragnarok, which will hit movie theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
