In Disney’s quarterly earnings call today, it was confirmed by Bob Iger that there is indeed a Loki series in development for their streaming service, now officially called Disney+, and that Tom Hiddleston will return as the god of mischief. Since this was previously reported by Variety, it stands to reason that the Wanda series they also reported could be in development too with Elizabeth Olsen starring, potentially alongside Paul Bettany as Vision.

No other details were given about this Loki series, so we have no idea whether this will be a prequel of some kind or Loki being reincarnated after his death in Avengers: Infinity War, as it has happened in the comics. Regardless of where this will fit in continuity, it’s still pretty surreal that Disney has confirmed to be hiring on the original actors for such a big character for their franchise, which just opens so many doors for future stories to tell.
