With the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe just under three months away, speculation grew online over the weekend that MCU stalwart Tony Stark could be making a surprise cameo in November’s Doctor Strange.
Although director Scott Derrickson announced in a tweet published on April 3rd that the film had wrapped filming, speculation grew this morning as film co-star Benedict Wong tweeted the following:
Just wrapped! @MarvelStudios @DrStrange #wong #wecanbeheroes #rememberrememberthefourthofnovember https://t.co/8PPPFuspZm

With Derrickson’s original announcement on April 3rd, that would leave over four months for the crew over the Marvel Studios to order reshoots and squeeze Tony Stark, as played by Robert Downey Jr., in the film.
Twitter user and podcast host @s7evendaysageek seemed to confirm the news a few hours after Wong’s tweet:
It appears as if my little spies have bagged me a scoop! Tony Stark may have a cameo in #DoctorStrange

If this pans out and Stark does end up appearing in Doctor Strange, that’d make three MCU appearances for Iron Man in a year after appearing earlier this summer in the blockbuster hit Captain America: Civil War and being confirmed for next summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first solo film featuring Peter Parker as Spider-Man in the MCU.
