Canadian-born composer Trevor Morris has been selected to score the Marvel Studios Netflix series Iron Fist which is set to premiere March 17th, 2017. As the recent Luke Cage series highlighted, music is potentially playing a more and more important role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward and choosing Morris reflects the high caliber talent with which the studio is backing the Netflix shows.

Morris’s accolades include two EMMY awards and two Gemini awards for his scoring of the shows The Tudors, The Borgias, and The Pillars of the Earth. His film credits also include Scorpion King: Book of the Dead, The Ring 2, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2, The Last Samurai, Blade Trinity, Shrek 2, and The Hulk.

The Iron Fist series will introduce the fourth and final character set to join the as-yet-unformed superhero group the Defenders, following in the steps of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. The Defenders is set to drop sometime in 2017.
