The past month has been quite the treat for Spider-Man fans. Not only has the film officially kicked off production in Atlanta, Georgia, resulting in our first look of Tom Holland on set in the suit, but it has also seen the cast continue to expand with some rather impressive names. Stars like Donald Glover, Martin Starr, and Hannibal Buress have joined the cast in recent weeks, and now today, Deadline has revealed yet another cast member: Tyne Daly. Like with all of the other casting announcements, information regarding Daly’s role haven’t been disclosed.

Tyne Daly has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Jon Watts-directed pic for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. The Cagney & Lacey star joins Tom Holland in his first solo pic as the webslinger, with Robert Downey Jr playing Iron Man and Michael Keaton playing The Vulture, and an ensemble cast that includes Abraham Attah, Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Martin Starr and Logan Marshall-Green. They are keeping Daly’s role mum.

Daly is an interesting addition to the cast. Her most popular role is probably from the television series Judging Amy, where she played Maxine Gray from 1999-2005. However, it’s hard to deny her resume is rather impressive. Who do you think she could be playing in the film? A teacher at Peter’s school? Madame Web? Or someone else? Sound off in the comments below!
