A.K.A. Jessica Jones entered production back in February, and since then, we’ve heard about a few castings here and there, but for the most part it has been relatively quiet on the news front.
We’ve seen a few set photos of Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) with Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and David Tennant (Zebediah Killgrave/The Purple Man). And we’eve even seen a possible logo, but other than that, not much has been revealed regarding the show. This isn’t entirely surprising, if you’ll recall, Marvel didn’t start revealing much about Daredevil until the show neared the end of production. And even then, they were still rather tight lipped until about a month out from the release.
So it was a bit surprising to stumble upon the *Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones: Season One* book already up on Amazon. Even more surprising was the fact that it had a new synopsis posted under the description.
Here’s the updated synopsis from Amazon:
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.
Here is what Netflix has posted:
As you’ll note, all of the Marvel Netflix shows generally have a one or two sentence long synopsis posted on the site. This was the case with Daredevil until about a month or two out from the wrap of production. (Season one of Daredevil wrapped production in December, the official synopsis was posted in October.) Considering that A.K.A. Jessica Jones seems to be following the same production time frame as Daredevil, which filmed from July to December of last year, that would mean the show is about two months out from wrapping its first season.
Given that Amazon has already posted the Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones: Season One book on Amazon, I’d expect to see the synopsis updated on Netflix sometime soon. Who knows, maybe we’ll finally get a logo reveal with it?
A.K.A. Jessica Jones is set to hit Netflix later this year. There is no set date, but I’d guess a November release.
