IGN has released a second clip from tomorrow night’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., titled “Love in the Time of Hydra”, that features the return of Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33 (Ming-Na Wen).

Along with the new clip, IGN was able to speak to both Brett Dalton and Ming-Na Wen about this episode, where their characters are at (in Wen’s case, both of them), and how Ming-Na Wen felt portraying both Agent 33 and Agent Melinda May.

One of the most interesting answers from the interview was the one that Dalton gave regarding the relationship between Ward and Agent 33.

“I think what we’re seeing now is an unlikely duo who have both lost someone who gave them orders. So both of us have this question that we’ve been forced to answer: Who are we when someone’s not telling us what to do? I wrestled with those demons for six months in a padded cell before Season 2 and now Agent 33 is in a similar position and wondering what to do. I might have some knowledge in that.”

I can’t wait to see where the writers take these characters this season. As Dalton stated above, we’re so used to seeing these characters act on behalf of someone else, I’m curious to see who they end up becoming now that they are able to act of their own free will.

“Love in the Time of Hydra” will air tomorrow night on ABC at 9PM EST, be sure to tune in as it’ll mark the debut of Edward James Olmos as Robert Gonzales!
