Wesley Snipes’ Blade franchise may have never reached the box-office or critical success of the MCU but it’s hard to deny its significance in paving the way for succeeding superhero films. Last weekend’s announcement that Marvel Studios was rebooting the Blade franchise with Mahershala Ali came as a surprise to everyone. And thanks to Comicbook.com, we have the first reaction from Snipes about this reboot.

To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan. Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it’s not de end of de story.’ Welcome to the Daywalker Klique.

What a class act. I sure as hell wouldn’t mind seeing Snipes appear in the MCU down the road. Maybe he could play a cool Spidey villain like Tombstone. If that’s too much to ask, just give him a really good cameo in the rebooted movie. Audiences will love it. Along with the rest of the Phase 4 slate, there’s really not much known about this movie except for the fact that it’ll be part of the next batch of films.
