With filming set to begin soon on Avengers: Infinity War and its as yet untitled sequel, you can expect much of the films’ cast to begin arriving in Atlanta soon. One name that we can now say will be joining them is Zoe Saldana, who it seems is set to reprise her role as Gamora in the films.
We’ve known for some time now that Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord would be showing up in the films and a casting call that made the rounds in December indicated that the rest of the Guardians would be tagging along. However, we now have it straight from the source that Gamora will be there. During a red carpet interview for last night’s Golden Globes, Saldana was asked about the script for the film and indicated she still hasn’t seen it.
“I don’t know when they’re gonna let me read it. I mean I’m not looking forward to the 5 hours of green make up but everytime I finally arrive on set I feel so lucky and happy to be there.”
Saldana’s appearance in the film is not surprising given her association to Thanos. In fact, screenwriter Christopher Markus alluded to her appearance in the film as far back as last May. Despite some efforts to keep the appearance of the Guardians in these two mega-films a surprise, nobody has really ever doubted that they would appear and play an integral role.
